GRS-PH Plus Government Remains Fair To All Despite Political Differences, Says Hajiji

TUARAN, Sept 8 (Bernama) -- Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor emphasised that the Sabah government, led by Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) - Pakatan Harapan (PH) Plus, remains committed to fairness, extending this principle even to the opposition, despite differing political views.

Hajiji acknowledged that his administration has faced criticism and slander, but reaffirmed that justice remains a core principle.

The GRS chairman said that based on that principle, he is committed to giving fair treatment to everyone in the state, including in the matter of state government scholarships, ensuring that all students - regardless of their political affiliation, race, or religion - are treated equally.

“We do not seek revenge or exert pressure, even though we are in power,” he said, in his speech at the Sulaman Division’s Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) annual general meeting, today.

Hajiji, who is also the president of Gagasan Rakyat, urged grassroots leaders - including branch heads, village chiefs, and Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) chairpersons - to uphold fairness and impartiality when distributing aid to all citizens.

“Provide accurate information to the government or elected representatives. This principle has guided me for 35 years as the Sulaman assemblyman - just ask my colleagues. I understand that not everyone likes me, but that’s alright; I don't let it affect me,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hajiji criticised the opposition for their stance against the current government, accusing them of deliberately turning a blind eye to their past mistakes. He pointed out that the water supply and road issues currently plaguing Sabah are not new problems, but rather inherited from the previous administration.

Therefore, Hajiji dismissed the opposition’s hopes of regaining power in the next state election, expressing confidence that the people of Sabah are discerning, and will choose a party or coalition that can truly lead Sabah towards progress.
