LABUAN, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- The Labuan division of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) has retained its existing leadership line-up for 2024, with no contest for any positions.
Its chief, Rosli Awang Damit, said this decision was unanimously agreed upon by all committee members across various levels.
Speaking at the PGRS Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2.0 held at a leading hotel in Labuan today, Rosli emphasised the choice to avoid contests for leadership positions stemmed from a desire to preserve unity within the party.
“The decision to retain the current line-up was made after considering the importance of party unity,” Rosli said.
The AGM was officiated by Sindumin assemblyman Datuk Dr. Yusof Yacob.
Rosli also outlined the division's focus for the upcoming year, which centres on fostering a ‘transformation of thinking’ among party members.
This transformation, he said, is key to enhancing PGRS's presence in Labuan, while also aligning with the party's struggle to stabilise Sabah and Labuan's economy through its political platform.
Rosli said the Labuan PGRS aims to strengthen its influence on the island as it prepares to tackle economic challenges and political opportunities ahead.
PGRS is led by its president, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor.
