1. PM ALERTS NATION TO BE READY FOR FLOOD RISKS - - FRESH NEWS 

Prime Minister Hun Manet urged authorities to be vigilant amid flood threats by taking flood mitigation measures. He said rice seeds and farmers' needs should be prepared beforehand. So far floods destroyed 12,000 hectares of rice fields, 449 hectares of mixed crops and 822 industrial crops in several provinces.  

2. POWERING POWER SECTOR WITH US$5.79 billion - - FRESH NEWS

Cambodia has approved power project investments worth US$5.79 billion until 2029 to fix power shortages. Projects include solar, wind, gas-fired power plant and hydropower, which will strengthen the national grid, and provide stable and affordable electricity—boosting energy security.

1. TOURIST TRAIN FROM CHINA TO LAOS - - THE LAOTIAN TIMES

A new cross-border tourist train StarExpress was launched connecting Kunming in China, to Luang Prabang and Vientiane in Laos that will boost the tourism sector in both countries. Earlier Laos-China Railway introduced a passenger train linking Laos capital Vientiane and Beijing.

 

2. LAOS PARTNERS PRIVATE SECTOR TO PUSH GREEN AGENDA - - VIENTIANE TIMES

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry partnered with Green Synergy Co. Ltd. to promote sustainable development. Reducing emissions from deforestation and a target to generate 17.8 million tonnes of carbon credits over a 40-year lifespan tops the partnership.

1.JAKARTA GUBERNATORIAL RACE HEATS UP: RIDWAN KAMIL AT 47.5%, PRAMONO ANUNG AT 31.5% -- JAKARTA GLOBE

A new survey from Poltracking Indonesia indicates that the race for Jakarta’s gubernatorial seat is heating up, with Ridwan Kamil and his running mate Suswono leading the pack with a notable electability rate of 47.5 percent, while Pramono Anung and Rano Karno trail at 31.5 percent.
