MSCE 2024 A Platform To Enhance Knowledge On Strata Property Management

PUTRAJAYA, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- The three-day Malaysia Strata Conference and Exhibition (MSCE) 2024, specifically held for the strata management industry, serves as a platform to gain knowledge in managing and maintaining strata properties.

National Housing Department director-general Datuk K.N. Jayaselan said that this first-of-its-kind conference also provides a platform for Joint Management Bodies (JMB), Management Corporations (MC), and industry players to exchange views on strata management.

"We support and hope that more events like this will be organised in the future. This programme provides an opportunity for JMBs, MCs, and strata residents to come and gain knowledge," he told Bernama after opening the MSCE 2024 here today.

He also said that the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) participated in the event through exhibitions and speakers conducting knowledge-sharing sessions with conference attendees.

“KPKT has representatives taking part in knowledge-sharing sessions to inform participants about the ministry’s activities. I hope this convention will improve their knowledge and enhance their respective strata management,” he said.

Meanwhile, Fifth Connexions Sdn Bhd managing director Tiffany Chai said that MSCE 2024 aims to attract 3,000 visitors, including from JMBs, MCs, property management bodies, strata property owners, developers, strata lawyers, and local authorities (PBT).

She added that the event's objective is to educate stakeholders on the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and its importance in strata management; to connect the strata community with service providers; to promote innovative solutions; and to provide updates on laws, regulations, and industry trends.

“We hope to start with this initiative (MSCE 2024) before organising larger programmes with more participants. Our focus will be on discussions about ESG, which has now become a crucial element,” she said, adding that 12 speakers are involved in the conference.

Themed around Environmental, Social, and Governance principles, Chai remarked that MSCE 2024 plays a significant role in fostering sustainable, equitable, and well-governed strata living communities.

She also expressed her gratitude to KPKT for its support of MSCE 2024’s organisation and hoped to strengthen collaboration to build public confidence in the private sector.

“KPKT’s endorsement is crucial as it reflects the government’s recognition of the importance of improving strata management and living standards in Malaysia. It also enhances credibility and bridges the gap between government initiatives and the strata community,” she said.
