UniMAP Graduates Enjoy High Employability Rate, Premium Salaries

ARAU, Oct 5 (Bernama) -- The employability rate of Universiti Malaysia Perlis' (UniMAP) graduates last year reached 97.7 per cent, with the majority securing jobs at multinational companies, said its vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Zaliman Sauli.

He said these graduates enjoy premium salaries exceeding RM4,000 per month, even though they had just recently completed their studies.

“In fact, during my recent visit to Singapore, I had the pleasure of meeting two UniMAP alumni working as engineers in multinational companies.

“Therefore, parents and guardians, you do not need to worry about the future of your children, as UniMAP graduates are highly sought after by various industries,” he said in his speech during a briefing session for parents in conjunction with the orientation week for the 2024/2025 academic session undergraduate students at UniMAP’s Alam Campus, Pauh Putra here today.

Zaliman highlighted that UniMAP offers high-quality academic programmes, supported by dedicated and experienced faculty members, as well as modern and complete facilities that enhance the teaching and learning process.

“Moreover, we place a strong emphasis on co-curricular and character development activities to nurture well-rounded students who excel academically, emotionally and socially. This aligns with the Higher Education Ministry’s aspiration to produce the nation’s top talents to meet both local and global industry needs,” he said.

Meanwhile, Zaliman announced that UniMAP has received 2,059 new students enrolling in programmes across six faculties, based on the latest admission data as of yesterday.

“The Faculty of Electronic Engineering & Technology welcomed 393 new students, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering & Technology (361 new students), the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering & Technology (251 new students), the Faculty of Chemical Engineering & Technology (149 new students), the Faculty of Civil Engineering & Technology (163 new students) and the Faculty of Business & Communication (742 new students),” he said.

He said this year’s intake surpassed last year’s figures, demonstrating UniMAP’s increasing appeal to young individuals, driven by the university’s reputation for producing industry-ready graduates.
