Nadal Announces Retirement From Professional Tennis

 MOSCOW, Oct 10 (Bernama-Sputnik) - Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal announced on Thursday that he is ending his professional career, reported Sputnik.

"Hello everyone! I am here to let you know that I am retiring from professional tennis ... It is obviously a difficult decision, one that has taken me some time to make, but, in this life, everything has a beginning and an end," Nadal said in a video message on X, also thanking his fans in 12 languages.

Nadal, who turned 38 in June, added that this year's Davis Cup will be his last professional competition.

The Davis Cup Final 8 will be held in Spain's Malaga from November 19–24. The Spanish team is expected to face their Dutch opponents in the quarterfinal round.
