CAMBODIA

1. CAMBODIA TO HOST PRO-PLANET BEAUTY CONTEST -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE

Cambodia will host the 4th Miss Planet International from 19 to 27 November that is expected to attract seventy participants. The pageant aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to protect the planet.

 

2. SOUTH KOREAN FIRM TO BUILD RECYCLING PLANT -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE

South Korea-based Dahan Corporation plans to build a recycling plant in Cambodia to tackle plastic pollution in the Kingdom. The Cambodian government has implemented a Circular Strategy for the Environment to be carbon neutral by 2050.

1. PSSI FILES COMPLAINT OVER CONTROVERSIAL RI-BAHRAIN MATCH -- THE JAKARTA POST

The Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) is filing a complaint with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) over the decisions of Omani referee Ahmed Al Kaf in a World Cup qualifying match between Indonesia and Bahrain that ended in a 2-2 draw.

 

2. GERINDRA PARTY: PRABOWO'S UPCOMING CABINET TO INCLUDE APPROXIMATELY 46 MINISTRIES -- JAKARTA GLOBE

Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, the Daily Chairman of the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party, addressed rumours regarding the number of ministries in President-elect Prabowo Subianto's upcoming administration, indicating that the figure is expected to be around 46 ministries.

 

MYANMAR 

1. ROAD MAP TO HELP EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE VICTIMS -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

ASEAN will formulate a comprehensive roadmap to assist explosive ordnance victims by offering therapy, vocational training and counselling. The roadmap was discussed at the Workshop on Physical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Needs Support for Explosive Ordnance Victims in the ASEAN Region held in Myanmar.

 

2. MYANMAR EXPORTS 930,000 TONNES OF RICE --THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR       

Myanmar exported 930,000 tonnes of rice and broken rice worth about RM1.9 billion (US$458 million) in the first half of this year. Nearly 900,000 tonnes were shipped via maritime trade channels and 20,000 tonnes were sold at border posts.

 

SINGAPORE

1. EAST ASIA SUMMIT: S’PORE URGES ASEAN’S PARTNERS TO ‘LEAN FORWARD’ TO HELP STOP VIOLENCE IN MYANMAR -- THE STRAITS TIMES

Singapore has called on ASEAN’s key partners, including the United States and China, to use their leverage over the Myanmar authorities to stop the ongoing violence in the country, and to pave the way for humanitarian aid and national reconciliation.

 

2. LANDLOCKED LAOS, ‘SEA-LOCKED’ SINGAPORE JOIN FORCES IN ENERGY, SUSTAINABILITY, FOOD SECURITY -- THE BUSINESS TIMES
