MANJUNG, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- The Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) Stadium is ready to serve as the home venue for Perak FC when Perak Stadium in Ipoh is closed for upgrading works beginning this November.
MPM president Muhammad Faizal Shah Safian Suri said they are confident of meeting the requirements for The Bos Gaurus team to complete their remaining home matches in the Super League and Malaysia Cup.
He said that so far, everything is progressing well and the quality of the pitch and the drainage system of the 15,000-seater stadium could meet the requirements of the Malaysian Football League (MFL).
"Actually, the MFL recently visited the stadium to inspect the facilities and identify improvements that need to be made for the MPM Stadium to host Malaysian League matches.
"However, for the time being, all matches will be scheduled in the afternoon, as the stadium's floodlights are currently below the MFL’s minimum requirement of 1,200 lux (brightness level). At present, the MPM Stadium's brightness level is between 800 and 900 lux," he said at a press conference here today.
Also present at the session were Perak FC general manager Neow Choo Seong, Perak FC technical director Raja Azlan Shah Raja So'ib, and MPM’s One-Stop Centre director Abdul Rahim Syah Khalib.
The Perak Stadium will be closed for approximately eight months for field turf upgrades, with the upgrading works scheduled for completion by June next year.
