TNB GENCO CONFIRMS NO WATER RELEASE AT SUSU DAM, ULU JELAI POWER STATION
KUANTAN -- TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd (TNB Genco) has confirmed that there are no water release operations at the Susu Dam, Ulu Jelai Power Station in Ringlet, Cameron Highlands today, contrary to recent social media claims.
Cameron Highlands Power Station general manager, Sa’aidan Abu Hassan clarified that a letter circulating online falsely alleged that the Ulu Jelai Power Station would release water through its spillway, potentially raising water levels to dangerous heights downstream.
“I would like to inform and emphasise that no water release operations will take place today or throughout the current monsoon period at any of our dams, and the water levels at all our dams remain within normal levels,” he said in a statement today.

OVER 300 REGISTER FOR DRIVING LICENCE TRANSITION PROGRAMME IN MELAKA
MELAKA -- A total of 329 registered applicants have enrolled in the Special Programme for the Transition of Malaysian Driving Licences (LMM) from Class B2/B1 to Class B in Melaka since its launch on Oct 1.
State Road Transport Department director, Muhammad Firdaus Shariff, said out of this number, 12 applicants took the required tests, with eight successfully upgrading their licences.
“However, to date, the programme is only being conducted at seven registered driving institutes (IM) across the three districts in Melaka,” he told reporters today.

CROCODILE FOUND ENTANGLED IN FISHERMAN'S NET IN BAGAN DATUK
IPOH -- A crocodile, estimated to weigh between 60 to 70 kilogrammes, was found entangled with other catches in a fisherman’s net at Bagan Ikan in Bagan Datuk this morning.
Bagan Datuk Civil Defence Force officer Captain (PA) Mohd Fazly Mohamad Zawawi said they received a call about the incident at 11.30 am from the fisherman, who also owns a fish platform in the area.
“The fisherman informed the Bagan Datuk APM (Civil Defence Force) Operations Control Centre that a crocodile had been caught alongside fish in the net.
“Five APM officers and personnel promptly went to the location to confirm the presence of the crocodile,” he said.

KELANTAN JPJ GENERATES RM151,100 FROM AUCTION OF 38 VEHICLES
KOTA BHARU -- The Kelantan Road Transport Department (JPJ) today generated RM151,100 from the auction of 38 vehicles of various types, attracting 58 bidders.
Director Mohd Misuari Abdullah said that the vehicles auctioned included Honda Jazz, Proton Saga, Toyota Vios, Mini Cooper and Yamaha RXZ motorcycles.
He said the auctioned vehicles were associated with various offences, such as expired vehicle licences, lack of insurance coverage, possession of unregistered motor vehicles and displaying fake registration numbers.
“The highest bid for a vehicle was for a Toyota bB, which sold for RM35,000,” he told reporters following the auction.

WASTE COLLECTOR DIES AFTER FALLING FROM MOVING GARBAGE TRUCK IN BESUT
JERTIH -- A waste collector has died after falling from the garbage truck he was riding in Jalan Kampung Jabi this morning.
Besut police chief Supt Abdul Rozak Muhammad said the incident occurred around 8 am. The victim, Muhammad Sahrul Aiman Anuar, 20, was standing at the back of the moving truck as it travelled from Jertih to Kuala Terengganu for waste collection in the Jabi area when he slipped and fell onto the front of a Proton Saga car.
“The victim lost his balance and fell onto the front of a Proton Saga driven by a 20-year-old woman coming from the same direction behind the garbage truck.
“As a result of the incident, the victim, who lived in Kampung Pasir Tawar, Jertih, died at the scene due to his injuries,” he said in a statement today.

KELANTAN KPDN BUSTS SYNDICATE SELLING 131 COUNTERFEIT JACKETS IN TUMPAT
KOTA BHARU -- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in Kelantan has crippled a syndicate involved in the sale of 131 jackets of various sizes featuring registered trademarks without permission in Tumpat today.
Kelantan KPDN director, Azman Ismail, said that during the operation, all jackets suspected of bearing counterfeit brand labels were seized, with an estimated value of RM4,585.
He said the raid was conducted following a complaint from the trademark owner regarding widespread online sales of counterfeit jackets.
“The premises owner, a man in his 30s, is being investigated under Section 102(1)(c) of the Trade Marks Act 2019 for possessing and using registered trademarks for commercial purposes without permission.”
