Budget 2025: Govt Allocates RM50 Mln To Promote Language, Literature Activities

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) – The government is providing RM50 million for Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka to work with language activists to intensify language and literature activities, especially among the younger generation to raise the level of language and literature.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when tabling Budget 2025 in the Dewan Rakyat today said this includes translating masterpieces, organising plays and preserving the languages ​​of minorities such as ethnic Siamese.

He said apart from that, the government also fully supports the development of the creative arts industry by increasing the allocation of the Digital Content Fund to RM65 million to promote works mainly based on patroitism.

"Almost RM40 million has also been provided under the Film Incentive in Malaysia to support the production of international films in Malaysia. MyCreative Ventures is also provided with RM25 million to support the creative industry by injecting equity into high-potential companies and providing financing for creative social entrepreneurs.

"The MADANI Creative Youth Programme will be organised to attract nearly 16,000 youth to enter the field of art with an allocation of RM30 million and activities including videography creative content skill workshops, film community development and short film competitions," he said.
