Budget 2025: Indian Community Not Marginalised - Ramanan

18/10/2024 10:07 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) -- Budget 2025 proves that the Indian community has not been marginalised, said Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.

He said this was proven through the announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim regarding an allocation of RM130 million for the implementation of various programmes, including business funding for the Indian community.

"We can see the Prime Minister's commitment to treating all races equally… so, there's no issue of any community being marginalised.

"The assistance and allocations provided are not specifically for any race but for all Malaysians. For example, specific allocations for the education sector through Tamil and Chinese national-type schools and national schools,” he said when met in Parliament after the tabling of Budget 2025 here today.

He said that the MADANI Government had previously approved socioeconomic development initiatives for the Indian community, including RM100 million for the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra) and RM30 million under the Indian Community Entrepreneur Development Scheme (SPUMI).
