IPOH, Oct 19 (Bernama) -- The MADANI Village Adoption initiative, created to bridge the gap in basic infrastructure, is seen to instill a spirit of togetherness and strengthen the bond between the government and the people.

“It is in line with Malaysia's MADANI aspirations which emphasise unity, well-being and social justice in developing the country,” he said at the MADANI Village Adoption programme organised by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) here today.

Also present were MMEA director-general Maritime Rear Admiral Datuk Mohd Rosli Abdullah, deputy director-general of MMEA management Honorary Maritime Captain Mohd Norzam Mustapa, Hulu Perak district officer Mohamad Fitri Hassan and Perask MMEA director Maritime Captain Mohd Shukri Khotob.

A total of 100 food hampers were distributed to the residents of Kampung Beng Dalam in Lenggong in conjunction with the adoption initiative.

Meanwhile, Mohd Rosli said the strengthening of relations through the programme was seen to be able to build a deeper sense of mutual trust and support between agencies and the people.

Earlier, as many as 50 units of life vests were donated by Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) to the fishing community, in addition to more than 100 officers and members of Maritime Malaysia going down to the ground to look after the surau, clean the cemetery and repair waqf huts.
