INSKEN Entrepreneurs In Sarawak Generate RM2 Mln In Sales Revenue

KUCHING, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- A total of 119 entrepreneurs in Sarawak generated almost RM2 million in sales through the mentoring programme implemented by the National Entrepreneurship Institute Berhad (INSKEN) throughout this year.

INSKEN said all the entrepreneurs had followed four programmes under INSKEN Bumiputera Business Coaching (IBBC), namely cafes and restaurants; supermarket, spa and bakery sales.

“In addition to the jump in sales revenue, this main INSKEN programme also successfully created 93 new jobs while 10 entrepreneurs changed their business status from micro to small,” it said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, 25 INSKEN Start-Up Coaching participants recorded improved diagnostic scores of 287 per cent within a period of six months following this entrepreneur coaching.

This diagnostic score is evaluated before and after participating in the programme through the elements of business concept, product, price, marketing, sales, financial management, logistics/distribution, operations/manufacturing, technology/innovation, investors, work team and leadership.

All 144 Sarawak entrepreneurs who participated in the IBBC and INSKEN Start-Up Coaching programme were feted in a graduation ceremony of the 2024 INSKEN Mentoring Programme Sarawak Edition, which was officiated by Sarawak Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Dr Ripin Lamat here yesterday (Oct 19).

The successful implementation of these two mentoring programmes in Sarawak is also the result of INSKEN's collaboration with Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) and the Sarawak Social Welfare Department (JKMS).

INSKEN chief executive officer Muhd ​​Firdaus Azharuddin said this success proved that their move to open a branch in Sarawak last year has paid off as more entrepreneurs in the state took the opportunity to get training assistance and guidance.

“INSKEN will continue to remain proactive in helping entrepreneurs in Sarawak and increasing assistance to those in the interior, including by collaborating with various agencies here,” he added.
