Budget 2025 To Drive Construction Sector Productivity -- MPC

30/10/2024 11:40 AM

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- Budget 2025 has brightened the construction sector prospects with a focus on developing quality infrastructure, strengthening strategic investments, and ensuring that all sectors function in an inclusive and sustainable manner.

Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) Director-General Zahid Ismail said public-private partnerships are also used as a platform to speed up project implementation that can directly benefit the people.

"The year 2025 will also see a greater focus on national development that focuses on the interests of the people and the provision of facilities that support industrial areas according to the state's priorities.

"This development can be realised if the authorities improve existing procedures by shortening the approval process," he said in a media statement.

The MPC, through the Construction and Built Environment Productivity Nexus (COBEPN) in collaboration with the special task force on agency reform plays an important role in expanding bureaucratic reform efforts aimed at improving and speeding up matters in all government agencies.

A total of RM25 million has been allocated to implement the initiative next year for the convenience of the people, traders and investors, he said.

"MPC is committed to this collaboration in the hope that this effort can help speed up government affairs; the process of approval of the certificate of completion of work, or CCC, via the efforts of Kulai Fast Lane has been shortened to 14 days instead of 30," said Zahid.
