ISKANDAR PUTERI, Nov 10 (Bernama) -- Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) gave Perak FC a 5-0 drubbing in their Super League match at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium here tonight.
Romel Morales opened accounts for the Southern Tigers in the 21st minute, and striker Bergson Da Silva scored the second two minutes later.
Romel then scored his personal second goal of the match, putting JDT 3-0 ahead in the 35th minute after receiving a cross from Juan Muniz and then put themselves in a commanding four-goal lead with a penalty in the injury time of the first half, which was easily converted by Bergson Da Silva.
In the second half, JDT made full use of their huge lead, preferring to defend and absorb Perak’s attacks.
Meanwhile, Both Arif Aiman Mohd Hanapi and Tommy Mawat picked up yellow cards for their roles in a scuffle.
Near the end of the match, Bergson finally got his hattrick, scoring his personal third goal in the 89th minute and putting his team in an unassailable position.
The Malaysia Football League (MFL) had issued a statement previously that the venue of the postponed Super League match between JDT and Perak, which was supposed to be held at the Manjung Municipal Council Stadium today, was switched to Sultan Ibrahim Stadium here.
Perak had been asked to name an alternative venue due to safety concerns over the high profile match.
