PETALING JAYA, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) has identified three more supermarket locations to open Ehsan Mart which sells discounted goods in the near future.
PKPS Group chief executive officer Datuk Dr Mohamad Kharil Mohamad Razi said the locations included two in Ampang and one in Hulu Klang, Selangor.
"As announced by the Menteri Besar (Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari), next year we will get RM30 million allocation... so we need to start opening 10 Ehsan Mart and there are still other programmes that we need to implement in collaboration with our partners and industry players.
"Seven more locations for the opening of the supermarket will be identified based on the demand and density of the population that requires Ehsan Rahmah Sales (JER)," he said at the 'Inisiatif Pendapatan Rakyat Cili Fertigasi' event in Pelangi Damansara here today.
The opening of Ehsan Mart, which offers prices of essential goods 10 to 15 per cent lower than market price, is a continuation of the JER programme launched by PKPS in August 2022.
Media reported earlier that the state government through the Selangor Budget 2025 allocated a total of RM30 million for the implementation of JER 2025 and Ehsan Mart.
Mohamad Kharil said PKPS will continue the JER scheme, only that this time it will focus on opening more Ehsan Mart branches instead of using trucks to deliver goods when visiting locations.
