KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil today extended his condolences to the family of Kwong Wah Yit Poh journalist, Tan Zhi Wei, who died this afternoon.
In a Facebook post, Fahmi said Tan, who was the Head of the General News Desk at the media organisation, died at the age of 35 from meningitis.
“This loss is deeply felt, especially as the late Tan had covered several events I attended.
“I pray for the family to remain strong and patient in facing this immense loss. My condolences also go out to his colleagues at Kwong Wah Yit Poh. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
Tan died at Kuala Lumpur Hospital. His funeral will be held on Friday in his hometown of Batu Pahat, Johor.
