KOTA BHARU, Nov 22 (Bernama) – Yayasan Petronas has distributed care packages to 2,500 families in the East Coast states of Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang as part of preparations for the Northeast Monsoon (MTL).
Petronas East Coast Region general manager Mohammad Ahmad Shazly Ramli said the care packages were meant for flood victims at temporary evacuation centres and would be distributed by the Social Welfare Department. The packages include essential items such as bottled water and food supplies.
He also noted that the foundation provided fuel assistance worth RM4,000 to authorities and rescue agencies in the affected states.
“A total of 1,000 care packages and fuel assistance worth RM4,000 in Kelantan were handed over to Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud during a simple ceremony at Kampung Pohon Buloh, Pasir Mas, today.
"Meanwhile, a contribution of 1,000 care packages and fuel assistance worth RM4,000 in Terengganu, as well as 500 care packages and fuel assistance worth RM4,000 in Pahang, will be presented during separate ceremonies later,” he said in a statement today.
He expressed Petronas’ gratitude for the dedication shown by local authorities in assisting flood victims and hoped the contributions would aid the agencies in preparing for the monsoon season.
