GUA MUSANG, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of National Unity (KPN) has allocated RM2.5 million for the implementation of Kampung Angkat MADANI Programme in Kampung Batu Papan here.
The ministry said the allocation covers 18 physical works to ensure the improvement of basic facilities, including road infrastructure, clean water supply, telecommunications systems and electricity supply to benefit the local community.
"The selection of this village aligns with the criteria set by the government, which includes villages with less than 50 per cent coverage of basic facilities or those with incomplete and inadequate infrastructure requiring special attention.
"The Kampung Angkat MADANI Programme in Kampung Batu Papan is being implemented to enhance access to basic facilities and community amenities through the whole-of-government approach," it said in a statement today.
The statement also said that identified and ongoing physical works include the installation of solar lights, repairs to community hall and kindergarten, improvements to recreational and sports facilities, and upgrading of recreational and social infrastructure.
The Kampung Angkat MADANI Programme is an initiative introduced under Budget 2024 to improve access to basic facilities and community amenities through the whole-of-government approach.
Some 42 villages across the country have been selected as Kampung Angkat MADANI, involving an allocation of RM100 million.
