KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 (Bernama) -- The National Heritage Crafts Exhibition at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Museum is a recognition of all national craft figures and ‘adiguru’ who inspire industry players, students and researchers as well as the public.
The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) said in a statement today that the exhibition featured a collection of handicraft products from the handicrafts of eight national craft masters and 63 craft masters.
"This exhibition is a platform to increase knowledge related to handicraft through the use of materials, a variety of motifs, techniques and the subtleties of handwork in the production of Malaysian craft products," said the statement.
The exhibition was launched by the Director General of Handicrafts Malaysia Datuk 'Ainu Sham Ramli today in conjunction with the walkabout session of the Textile Charm Craft Festival 2024 at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex.
On the festival, MOTAC said it started on Nov 28 and will continue until Dec 8 to highlight the creative touch and meticulousness of entrepreneurs' handicrafts, ranging from batek, songket, embroidery, and other products portray the Malaysian identity.
The festival was held in conjunction with the Malaysia Batek Day celebrated on Dec 3, every year throughout the country.
