KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- A total of 558 members of the the Malaysian Universities’ Volunteer Council (MASKUM) have been deployed to Kelantan for a three-day post-flood mission under the 2024 Ihsan MADANI Squad, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education.
An infographic posted by MASKUM on Facebook stated that 12 universities were participating in the mission, including Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
“Others include Universiti Malaya; Universiti Teknologi Mara; Universiti Putra Malaysia; Universiti Malaysia Terengganu; Universiti Malaysia Perlis; Universiti Utara Malaysia dan Universiti Malaysia Kelantan,” it said.
MASKUM shared that today, volunteers would be assisting in cleaning efforts and distributing necessities in Pasir Mas, Tumpat, Rantau Panjang, Tanah Merah, and Bachok before moving to Pasir Puteh tomorrow.
“Among the areas included in the cleaning mission are Sekolah Kebangsaan Rahmat and Masjid Kampung Siram in Pasir Mas, and Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Tumpat and Masjid At-Taqwa Bunut Susu in Tumpat.
“The cleaning mission in Rantau Panjang covers Masjid Gual Sitok and Masjid Al-Taqwa Taman Rantau Mas, while in Bachok, it involves Kampung Bakong and Kampung Tanjung Jenera,” said MASKUM.
