KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- Selangor Red Giants (SRG), the reigning champions of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 14, have advanced to the knockout stage of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship (M6) after defeating Cambodian side CFU Gaming 2-1 at IOI City Mall Putrajaya today.
In a best-of-three (BO3) series, the team coached by Michael Angelo Bocado (Arcadia) started off on the wrong foot, losing the first game 18-16 in over 14 minutes.
However, the Malaysians bounced back in the second game, playing more aggressively to win 11-0 and force the decider.
In the third game, SRG started strong, taking an early lead in kills. Surprised by SRG's performance, CFU Gaming fought back and nearly secured victory.
SRG's experience proved to be the key to victory as they rallied to win 13-7 in 15 minutes.
This victory allowed SRG to advance to the knockout stage along with another Malaysian team, Team Vamos, who defeated North American side BloodThirstyKings (BTK) 2-0 earlier in the day.
