SHAH ALAM, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- The top 10 winners of the Selangor E-Commerce Xcellerator (ECX24) embarked on an innovation trip to Shanghai, China, to gain global exposure and engage with leading innovation ecosystems, industry experts, and emerging business trends.
The trip participants include Wellness Cosmetology Alliance Lab Sdn Bhd, Nasi Lemak Nale Sdn Bhd, Ominent Sdn Bhd, Eartheories Sdn Bhd, Gelatomio Production Sdn Bhd, Saudagaar Asia Sdn Bhd, Kimyra International Sdn Bhd, Natugee Sdn Bhd, MCCKT Ventures Sdn Bhd, and Naza Beyond Ventures.
Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy (Sidec) in a statement said the week-long trip, which ended on Dec 7, included a visit to ChatPlus AI headquarters, where participants explored AI solutions for enhancing customer engagement on platforms like Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.
"A key highlight of the programme was a session hosted by ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok and Douyin.
"Participants attended tailored workshops on TikTok Shop business trends, Douyin livestream success strategies, and best practices for managing multi-channel networks (MCN) and affiliate partnerships," the statement read.
According to the statement, the insights offered participants practical strategies to enhance their businesses and adapt to the evolving e-commerce landscape.
Sidec highlighted that the trip also focused on networking with key business leaders and government officials. A formal dinner with Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari provided a platform to foster collaborations and celebrate Selangor's entrepreneurial accomplishments.
"Additionally, visits to MATRADE Shanghai and Plug & Play Shanghai provided participants with valuable insights into market entry strategies and the Chinese innovation ecosystem," the statement said.
Sidec added that the ECX24 International Innovation Trip reflects its commitment to helping Malaysian startups expand globally by connecting entrepreneurs with industry leaders and cutting-edge technologies, paving the way for new opportunities and growth.
Sidec chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping said global exposure is vital for entrepreneurs to innovate and scale their businesses. He noted that the ECX24 International Innovation Trip offered top startups invaluable insights into global e-commerce ecosystems and advanced business strategies.
“We are confident this experience will empower them to embrace innovation and compete on a global scale,” he said.
