MUSA RECEIVES CONGRATULATORY MESSAGES ON APPOINTMENT AS SABAH GOVERNOR

KOTA KINABALU, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sabah today congratulated Tun Musa Aman on his appointment as the 11th Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah.

PH, in a statement, also expressed gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, for granting the Instrument of Appointment for the Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah and the Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara award, which confers the title Tun, to Musa.

“Heartiest congratulations to Musa on this appointment and the conferment during the ceremony at the Balairung Kecil, Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur today.

“PH Sabah also extends its deepest appreciation to Tun Juhar Mahiruddin for his service as the 10th Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah,” the statement read.

Musa, 73, was appointed as the Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah in accordance with Article 1 of the Sabah State Constitution, for a term of four years starting from Jan 1, 2025, to Dec 31, 2028.

The appointment of the former Sabah Chief Minister is to replace Juhar, who will complete his term on Dec 31, after holding the position for four terms since Jan 1, 2011.

Meanwhile, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, also Papar MP, congratulated Musa and expressed hope that he would continue serving religion, the people, and the nation with excellence.

Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah Information chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan prayed that Musa would be blessed with good health to shoulder his responsibilities with utmost dedication and integrity for the beloved state of Sabah.

Sabah Farmers' Organisation Authority chairman Datuk Mohd Nazri Abdullah welcomed Musa's appointment, highlighting his significant contributions to the state's development during his tenure as Chief Minister.

“During his time in office and as the State Finance Minister, the state’s reserves saw remarkable growth. Furthermore, the state's revenue continued to increase year by year under Tun (Musa)’s leadership,” he said.
