Al-Sultan Abdullah, Tunku Azizah Congratulate Orang Asli Pupils For Robot Olympiad Gold

KUANTAN, Jan 22 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah extended their congratulations to three Orang Asli pupils for winning a gold medal at the 26th International Robot Olympiad 2024/2025 in Busan, South Korea. 

The pupils - Fizrey Rovince Ronachai, Hafiezie Azwanizizi, both 12, and Matthew Jambai Karong, 11, from Sekolah Kebangsaan Permatang Keledang in Pekan, Pahang, triumphed over 53 international competitors to secure gold in the Primary School Robotics Innovation category (ages 10-13). 

In a Facebook post, the Pahang Sultanate hailed their remarkable achievement, emphasising that their success highlights the potential of young Orang Asli students on the global stage.

“Their Royal Highnesses extend their congratulations to the school, the teachers, and all those who supported the team in this proud accomplishment,” the post read.

Their Highnesses also expressed hope that this outstanding achievement would inspire other students and teachers to continue to innovate, stay committed, and strive for success.

Meanwhile, Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail also congratulated the trio, noting that their victory demonstrated the great potential of Orang Asli students when given the opportunity to succeed.

"This success shows that children in Pahang are capable of competing internationally. May this achievement inspire other young people to continue innovating and elevating the name of the state and country.

“You have made us all incredibly proud,” he added.
