Water Supply From Bukit Temoh LRA Has Resumed - LAP

IPOH, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- All consumers affected by the water supply disruption caused by the Bukit Temoh Water Treatment Plant (LRA) in Tapah over the past two weeks, has returned to normal, the Perak Water Board (LAP) has informed.

In a statement on its Facebook page tonight, LAP said however, land reclamation work and installation of new pipes at the landslide incident area in Taman Bunga Hibis, Tapah is still continuing to ensure that the position of the pipes is at the proper depth.

"In this regard, if there are consumers who are still experiencing water supply disruptions, they are expected to contact the LAP Complaint Centre at 15353 for further checks by the LAP. 

“The Perak Water Board would like to thank all parties involved for their cooperation and support in ensuring that the water supply can be restored as before. The patience of all users involved is also greatly appreciated," the statement said.

On Feb 14, state Infrastructure, Energy, Water and Public Transport Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin informed that several areas in Batang Padang and Hilir Perak were affected by water supply disruptions following the leakage of underground pipes owned by LAP.

Earlier, on Feb 12, Mohammad Nizar said the water supply disruption that affected 50,000 consumer accounts in several areas in the Batang Padang and Hilir Perak districts since Feb 6 is expected to be restored in stages starting Feb 13.

The water supply disruption was caused by a leak in an underground pipe owned by LAP that drained raw water to the Bukit Temoh Water Treatment Plant next to Taman Bunga Raya.
