KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- The number of flood victims in Pahang has increased, while all temporary relief centres in Negeri Sembilan have been closed as of 8 pm.

In PAHANG, the number of flood victims housed at the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sero Semantan in Temerloh rose to 209 from 68 families tonight compared to 49 from 12 families this morning.

According to the Social Welfare Department InfoBencana portal, the relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Lanchang in the same district that sheltered 49 victims yesterday was closed at 2.30 pm.

Meanwhile, in NEGERI SEMBILAN, the Dewan D'Sury Jelebu relief centre was closed at 10 am after all flood victims were allowed to return home.

The relief centre was opened on Wednesday at 1 am after river water overflowed, flooding two areas in Jelebu.

"The weather is clear with no rainfall. However, we continue to monitor the river water levels as a safety measure and early precaution," said Jelebu district Civil Defence Officer Lt (PA) Mohd Najib Abdul Karim.
