National Women's Single Head Coach Jeffer Rosobin Leaves BAM

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) today announced the departure of women's singles coach Jeffer Rosobin.

In a statement, BAM said Jeffer had made the difficult decision to step down from his role due to family commitments.

Reflecting on his time with BAM, Jeffer shared that it had been an honour to work with BAM and contribute to Malaysia’s badminton development.

“I am grateful for the support from my fellow coaches, the management and the players, whose dedication has been inspiring.

“This decision was not easy, but my family needs me at this time. I will always cherish my time in Malaysia and look forward to seeing the players achieve greater success,” he said.

Meanwhile, BAM Director of Coaching Rexy Mainaky expressed gratitude for Jeffer’s contributions.

"Jeffer has been a valuable member of our coaching setup, bringing his expertise and commitment to the junior programme.

“His guidance has been instrumental in the growth of many promising players. While we are sad to see him go, we respect his decision and wish him and his family the very best,” he said.

For the record, Jeffer joined BAM in October 2023 as the Head of Juniors before being reassigned to the senior women’s singles department in October last year.

During Jeffer’s tenure as Head of Juniors, Aaron Tai-Kang Khai Xing won gold in the boys' doubles at the World Junior Championships in October, while Dania Sofea-Low Zi Yu captured silver in the girls' doubles.
