Perak KPDN Intensifies Monitoring Under Op Pantau 2025

IPOH, March 6 (Bernama) -- The Perak chapter of the Domestic Trade and Costs of Living ministry (KPDN) will implement targeted and stringent monitoring measures after the state recorded the highest number of offences - 11 cases - under Operation Pantau 2025, which began on March 2.

State KPDN director Datuk Kamalludin Ismail said the monitoring will focus on Ramadan as well as Aidilfitri bazaars, public markets, wet markets, supermarkets, and retail stores selling essential goods.

"Since Op Pantau began on March 2, until yesterday, we conducted 1,051 checks at business premises across the state, detecting 11 offences related to price tagging, expired weighing and measuring equipment, and the sale of counterfeit goods.

"To prevent these violations from happening again, a total of 195 enforcement officers and 75 price monitoring officers have been assigned to conduct inspections at various locations statewide," he told reporters during a walkabout at the Rahmah Ramadan Bazaar (BRR) in Taman Cempaka, here, today.

On March 4, Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Dr Fuziah Salleh said Perak recorded the highest number of cases under Op Pantau 2025, followed by Selangor with four cases, Sabah with three, and Johor and Kelantan with two cases each.

Meanwhile, Kamalludin said there are 10 BRR locations across Perak this year, offering a variety of affordable iftar meals for all groups.

"Each location will host BRR events eight times throughout Ramadan, and an estimated 52,000 visitors will benefit from incentives under the Retail Sector Digitalisation Initiative Programme (ReDi).

"Through ReDi, each bazaar visitor will receive RM20 credited to their Touch 'n Go (TNG) e-wallet. Additionally, traders offering Rahmah menu items will receive a one-off RM100 incentive," he said.

He encouraged consumers to visit KPDN's official website and social media pages on Facebook and TikTok for more information on BRR and the e-wallet incentives.
