KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 (Bernama) -- Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City FC) have taken note of the statement made by the Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA) president in his personal capacity and stressed that any decision regarding the club's future will be determined through an official Board of Directors meeting.
KL City FC emphasised their commitment to retain their status as an elite club in the Malaysia Super League.
"Any resolution regarding the club's future will be made through a decision at the official Board of Directors meeting, including a consensus among the key stakeholders to ensure the sustainability and direction of this club, by taking into consideration the best interests of the loyal supporters of the City Boys, the players, coaches, management, sponsors and our partners,” the club said in a statement posted on Instagram.
The club also thanked KL City FC patron Datuk Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the Communications Minister, for the statement he made at the KLFA New Leadership Exclusive Night Ceremony on Oct 17, 2024, expressing his aspirations to make KL City FC a renowned club.
"His commitment, support and vision are invaluable in driving the club's long-term development and success,” KL City FC added.
KLFA president Syed Yazid Syed Omar had previously stated that KL City FC may feature in the lower league and not compete in the Super League anymore in a move to resolve issues related to the team's unpaid wages.
