ISTANBUL, May 24 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday underlined the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation between Turkiye and Syria, particularly in the fields of energy, defence and transportation.
According to Anadolu Ajansi (AA), he made the remarks during a closed-door meeting in Istanbul with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, where both leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments.
Erdogan reiterated Turkiye’s firm stance against what he described as Israel’s occupation and aggression in Syria, calling it unacceptable and affirming Ankara’s continued opposition.
