KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 (Bernama) -- Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin today signed the condolence book at the Iranian Embassy here to pay Malaysia’s respect and express anguish over the human tragedy unfolding in West Asia.
Mohamad took to Facebook to share about his visit.
“Malaysia remains committed to global peace, utterly rejects any form of violence, and supports resolutions through dialogue and diplomacy,” Mohamad wrote on Tuesday.
Iran last Saturday declared a national day of mourning for the burial of top military leaders killed in strikes during the 12-day conflict with Israel which began on June 13.
At least 935 people were reportedly killed when Tel Aviv carried out air strikes on military, nuclear, and civilian sites in Iran.
The United States (US) conducted aerial bombardments of Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, escalating the conflict.
The hostilities ended with a US-brokered ceasefire, which came into effect on June 24.
