KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) -- National women’s junior pair Low Zi Yu-Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan advanced to the finals of the BWF World Junior Championships in Guwahati, India today.
The third seeds beat Chinese pair Cao Zi Han-Chen Fan Shu Tian 15-13, 12-15, 15-7 in a 46-minute duel to set up a meeting in the finals against Chinese Tan Ke Xuan- Wei Yue Yue, who eliminated favourites Kodchaporn Chaichana-Pannawee Polyiam of Thailand 15-17, 15-11, 15-10.
This is the second time Zi Yu has qualified for the final following last year’s appearance with her teammate Nur Dania Sofea Zaidi, who had to pull out this year after suffering an knee injury.
Meanwhile, mixed doubles pair Noraqilah Maisarah-Loh Ziheng ended their campaign with a bronze medal when they lost to Taiwanese pair Bing Fu Hung-Yun An Chou 15-13, 12-15, 8-15 in 40 minutes in their semifinal match.
