Pineapple Exports Surge Over 100 Pct In Six Months — Mohamad Sabu

02/11/2025 04:00 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s pineapple industry has recorded strong growth, with exports rising more than 100 per cent in the past six months, said Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

He said exports increased from 800 to 1,727 containers as of October 2024.

“This achievement proves that the agricultural sector, particularly the pineapple industry, has great potential to generate substantial income for our farmers,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Mohamad said he is confident pineapple exports will continue to grow in 2025, driven by the continued commitment of farmers, agencies and industry players.

He also urged more Malaysians, especially youths, to take up modern farming, which not only boosts farmers’ income but also strengthens the nation’s food security.
