MMEA Tok Bali Complex Expected To Be Completed In 2029

PASIR PUTEH, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- The construction of the RM250 million Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Complex in Tok Bali has entered its final assessment phase and is expected to begin early this year and copmleted in 2029.

Pembinaan Kompleks Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia (APMM) Negeri di Tok Bali yang dianggarkan bernilai RM250 juta kini memasuki fasa akhir penilaian dan dijangka memulakan kerja pembinaan pada awal tahun ini.

Kelantan MMEA director Capt (M) Erwan Shah Soahdi said the complex, including offices, a 200-metre jetty and quarters, will be built at a 14-hectare strategic location at the estuary of Tok Bali beach 

“With the jetty, a large MMEA vessel is expected to be stationed here for operations in East Coast waters, besides the placement of additional assets,” he told reporters after the Sahabat Maritim Back-To-School programme here today, adding that the complex would boost operational security levels compared to existing rented premises that are not gazetted as restricted areas.

Erwan Shah and over 20 MMEA personnel had earlier spent time with 50 poor students from fishermen’s families and took them to shop for school uniforms and supplies, courtesy of the MMEA Welfare Club.

In a seperate development, Erwan Shah said that the MMEA would continue conducting operations and monitoring throughout the northeast monsoon period to ensure the security of national waters.
