Lambretta Unites 818 Riders, Sets ASEAN And ASIA Records At Sepang

SEPANG, Jan 12 (Bernama) -- A historic gathering of Lambretta enthusiasts has earned recognition from ASEAN and ASIA Records for the largest brand-organised scooter members’ fun ride ever conducted on a Formula 1-grade circuit in Southeast Asia.

In collaboration with Petronas Sepang International Circuit, the event united 818 Lambrettisti on classic and contemporary scooters, celebrating community, heritage, and the enduring passion for the iconic Italian brand across generations.

Lambretta brand owner Walter Scheffrahn said Malaysia is a highly promising and strategic market for the brand, with growing local interest driving the decision to stage the record-setting gathering.

“Malaysia is a very interesting market for us, with many people showing genuine interest in Lambretta. By achieving these records here, we are sending a clear message that Malaysia plays a significant role not only in Asia but also to the rest of the world,” he told Bernama.

Scheffrahn added that the ASEAN and ASIA Records recognition elevates international awareness of Lambretta’s presence in the region and positions Malaysia as a premium hub within the brand’s global ecosystem.

“These records are not limited to Asia. People around the world will be aware of them, and that places Malaysia prominently on the global map in a premium Lambretta context. We are very proud of that,” he said.

He described the record-setting gathering as a testament to the unity, passion and credibility of the Lambretta community, inspiring confidence among potential new riders.

“Only the best can achieve records. This shows that Lambretta is a premium brand and gives confidence to those who may still be hesitant. They see that this is a safe companion in life, and by owning one, they become part of a family,” Scheffrahn said.

The event also witnessed the launch of the Casa Lambretta X300 Limited Edition, with production strictly limited to 999 units worldwide.
