KOTA TINGGI, Jan 13 (Bernama) -- Police have detained a football coach on suspicion of sodomising and molesting a male teenager at a hut in front of the suspect’s residence in Kampung Gembut, Tanjung Sedili here last Thursday.
Kota Tinggi district police chief Supt Yusuf Othman said the report was lodged by the 15-year-old victim himself a day after the incident.
Police later arrested the man, who is in his 50s, at the same village on the same day to assist in investigations.
“They are neighbours, and this was the first time the incident occurred. Investigations found that the suspect has no prior criminal record,” he said in a statement today.
An investigation paper was opened under Section 377C of the Penal Code, and the suspect was remanded for four days until today.
