JAKARTA, Jan 13 (Bernama) -- The Indonesian government will continue the Economic Package Programme introduced last year as part of its strategy to maintain economic growth momentum, public purchasing power, and expand job creation in 2026.
Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Spokesperson Haryo Limanseto said that several key programmes under the package would be continued and expanded this year, ANTARA News Agency reported.
These programmes include the national internships, and adjustments to the utilisation period and beneficiaries of the 0.5 per cent Final Income Tax (PPh) incentive for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises taxpayers until 2029.
He said the government would also extend the Government-Borne Article 21 Income Tax (DTP) for workers in the tourism and labour-intensive industries, as well as the DTP Value Added Tax for the housing sector.
In addition, the economic package would be expanded to include discounts on Work Accident Insurance and Death Insurance contributions for all Non-Wage Earners participants.
"The government is currently finalising the economic package," he said, ANTARA reported.
Haryo noted that the implementation of the Economic Package last year, which consisted of eight accelerated programmes, recorded significant achievements, with four of them set to continue this year.
