CAMBODIA

 

1.AIR CAMBODIA’S CORPORATE REBRANDING -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 

Air Cambodia unveiled its latest livery at Techo International Airport yesterday. The national flag carrier had earlier signed deals to procure  20 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and 20 COMAC C909 series aircraft.

 

2.SECURITIES MARKET WEATHERS CHALLENGES --  AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE 

The Cambodia Securities Exchange demonstrated strong resilience in 2025 despite multiple domestic and global challenges. The number of newly opened accounts reached 14,504 last year — an increase of 13.8 per cent compared to 2024.

1.INDONESIA RECORDS OVER 2,000 CHILD RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN 2025: KPAI -- ANTARA

The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) recorded 2,031 cases of child rights violations, with the number of victims reaching 2,063 throughout 2025. 

 

2.KADIN SEES INDONESIA'S ECONOMY GROWING 5.4 PERCENT IN 2026 -- ANTARA

Indonesia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) projected economic growth of 5.4 percent in 2026, saying stronger domestic consumption, resilient trade performance, and rising investment as key drivers for Southeast Asia’s largest economy.

 

LAOS 

 

1.LAO-VIETNAM SOARING BILATERAL TRADE -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

Laos and Vietnam bilateral trade reached almost RM12 billion (US$3 billion) last year. Vietnam is a key investor in Laos, and both countries have set a target to achieve RM20 billion (US$5 billion) in trade in the coming years.

 

2.CENTRAL BANK’S NEW GROWTH STRATEGIES -- VIENTIANE TIMES 

The Bank of the Lao PDR will attempt to reduce inflation, maintain adequate foreign reserves, bolster institutional strength and modern payment systems to stabilise the economy this year. 

 

MYANMAR

 

1.FLOURISHING SEAFOOD EXPORTS -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR  

Myanmar exported more than 227,000 metric tonnes of fish worth over RM1 billion (US$279 million) from April to December last year. Myanmar ships seafood to over 40 countries, including its major buyer, China.

 

2.ICJ HEARS KILLING OF ROHINGYA -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR 

The Gambia-Myanmar case is being heard at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands. Gambian lawyers alleged that the Myanmar armed forces had conducted counter-terrorism operation on Muslim Rohingya population in Rakhine State.

Singapore’s key exports grew faster than officially forecast in 2025 even as growth in shipments in the last month of the year slowed.

The first-ever pho, a popular Vietnamese soup noodle, museum was opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday to preserve the nation's culinary heritage. The Pho Museum is the first private culinary museum in Vietnam.

 

2.HITECH SPORTS STADIUM CONSTRUCTION BEGINS -- VIETNAMPLUS

A groundbreaking ceremony for the RM21 billion (US$5.2 billion) Rach Chiec National Sports Complex was held yesterday. The 70,000-seat stadium features a retractable roof and advanced air-conditioning systems.
