KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 19 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy call from Malaysian Senators' Council president Datuk Seri Khairudin E.S. Abd Samad at the Parliament Building here.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said the meeting discussed, among others, the role of the council in strengthening governance and national development.
“We also exchanged views on the strategic role of the Senators Council in ensuring the quality of the nation’s laws is preserved so that the MADANI government’s policies are implemented on a strong legal footing,” he said.
His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, had opened the 15th Parliament's Fifth Session earlier today.
