Citibank Temporarily Closes Branches, Financial Centres In UAE Amid War

12/03/2026 10:56 PM

ISTANBUL, March 12 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- The US-based lender Citibank temporarily closed its branches and financial centres in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from March 12 to March 14 “as a precautionary measure” amid the ongoing war in West Asia, Anadolu Ajansi reported.

The bank expects to reopen all affected locations on March 16, while its branch at the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai will remain operational during this period.

Earlier this week, Citibank offered its employees in the UAE the option to work remotely, including from abroad.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has threatened to attack “economic centres and banks” linked to US and Israeli entities in the region.
