Anwar, Egyptian Scholar Discuss Progress Of Mushaf Malaysia MADANI Project

KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (Bernama) -- The progress of the Mushaf Malaysia MADANI publication, launched yesterday, was among the matters Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim discussed with Egypt's former head of Sheikh Umum al-Maqari’, Sheikh Dr Ahmad ‘Isa Ma’sarawi.

The Sheikh Umum al-Maqari’ serves as the chief supervisor of all maqra’ah (Quranic learning centres) in mosques across Egypt.

Anwar posted on Facebook tonight that he received a courtesy call from Sheikh Dr Ahmad ‘Isa Ma’sarawi, who is currently on a visit to Malaysia.

"Sheikh, among others, expressed his intention to introduce this mushaf, produced by Malaysians, globally. 

"His contribution and services in the field of qiraati and the verification of the Quranic mushaf are highly welcomed, and the MADANI Government will continue to support efforts to uphold the dignity and message of the Quran,” said Anwar.

He said that both parties shared concerns regarding developments in the Muslim world, particularly in West Asia, which have significant impacts on the global community.

Anwar yesterday launched the Mushaf Malaysia MADANI at the Nasyrul Quran Integrated Printing Complex as part of efforts to strengthen the Quran Tadabbur (reflection) programmes at the national level.

The Mushaf Malaysia MADANI is among the country’s earliest hybrid Quran manuscripts, combining traditional Islamic calligraphy and local artistic elements with digital innovation to enable a more interactive engagement with the holy text in line with current technological developments.
