Traffic Starting To Build Up On Major Highways Leading Out Of Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 (Bernama) -- Traffic flow out of the Klang Valley towards the East Coast, north and south has started to build up in several locations by this evening, as people begin returning to their hometowns to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

A Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) spokesperson said that for the northbound direction, there is congestion on the North-South Expressway on the Slim River to Sungai route, Tapah to Gopeng, Juru to Perai, and Seberang Jaya to the Sungai Dua Toll Plaza.

"For those heading towards the East Coast, traffic congestion is occurring on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway in Gombak towards Genting Sempah, from Bukit Tinggi to Lentang, and at the Bentong Rest Area towards the Bentong Toll Plaza. Congestion is also occurring at the Kuala Terengganu Toll Plaza on the East Coast Highway 2," the spokesperson said when contacted by Bernama today.

LLM said that in the southern direction, traffic congestion is occurring on the PLUS highway from the Sungai Besi Toll Plaza to Universiti Putra Malaysia, Nilai to Bandar Ainsdale, Sedenak to Kulai, and Setia Tropika to Pasir Gudang.

It said the weather conditions in most areas this afternoon were reported to be good, with rain only in the Klang Valley.

The public is urged to adhere to the speed limits and always maintain a safe distance between vehicles throughout their journey.

Users are also encouraged to plan their journeys by referring to the Travel Time Advisory (TTA) schedule via the MyPLUS-TTA app, through the MyPLUS-TTA app, in addition to obtaining the latest traffic information via the toll-free PLUSLine 1-800-88-0000 and the X page @plustrafik or the LLM line 1-800-88-7752 and the X page @llmtrafik.
