KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms in several areas nationwide until 7 pm today.
It said in a statement that the affected areas include Perlis, Perak, Pahang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
In Perak, the conditions would prevail in Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim. In Pahang, the areas involved are Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Bentong, Maran, Kuantan and Rompin.
In the southern region, such weather would be experienced in Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin in Negeri Sembilan, as well as the whole of Melaka and Johor.
In Sarawak, the affected areas are Serian, Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang.
The warning also covers the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, Nabawan, Keningau and Tambunan) and the West Coast (Papar, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud) in Sabah.
