KUALA LUMPUR, April 9 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and 11 states until 10 pm tonight.
In a statement issued at 7.30 pm today, the department said that the bad weather is expected to affect the entire states of Perlis, Penang and Perak.
The same warning has been issued for Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), as well as for Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat).
The same weather conditions are also expected to affect Kelantan (Gua Musang), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Bera and Rompin), Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin) and Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai and Kota Tinggi).
In Sabah, warnings have been issued for the Interior, covering Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Nabawan, as well as for the West Coast (Putatan).
Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the affected areas are Sri Aman, Betong (Betong), Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang.
