KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 (Bernama) -- Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo has congratulated 14-year-old K Poonyamitra for earning a place in the Malaysia Book of Records after successfully memorising and reciting the first 300 digits of Pi.
In a Facebook post, he said the outstanding achievement was the result of sharp intellect, high discipline and consistent effort towards excellence.
“The progress of a country depends on the wisdom of its youth. May Poonyamitra inspire more young people to always give their best in whatever they do. Congratulations once again,” he said.
The Form Two student from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (P) St. George, Penang, set the record on Feb 9, securing the recognition for ‘Most Pi Recited From Memory by a Teenager’.
Apart from that, Poonyamitra also clinched the Memory Athlete category in the the Kids Got Talent Malaysia Season 9 competition after successfully memorising the first 300 digits of Pi, and finished as runner-up in the ASEAN World Records Rising Starz Icon 2025 event.
