KOTA BHARU, April 21 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan government is considering implementing a work-from-home (WFH) policy for state civil servants, Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan said.
He said the decision on its implementation would depend on current developments and whether it directly affects civil servants in the state.
“WFH is not new in the country, as it was previously adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“If the situation, for instance, is due to diesel prices remaining high, the implementation of WFH may be considered. I was recently told that a trip to Gua Musang costs RM500, and if this continues, it will place a burden on us,” he told reporters after the State Legislative Assembly sitting at Kompleks Kota Darulnaim here today.
Mohamed Fadzli said that if the WFH arrangement is implemented in the state, it will be carried out in stages or on a rotation basis.
“Government buildings cannot be left empty. Maybe only some staff will work from home. If there are 20 departments, perhaps only 10 will be involved in the implementation,” he said.
