KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 (Bernama) — AirTrunk, a hyperscale data centre platform company in Asia Pacific and West Asia, will increase its investment by another RM12 billion this year, bringing its total committed investment in Malaysia to RM27 billion.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the matter was conveyed to him during a courtesy visit by AirTrunk founder and chief executive officer Robin Khuda and a delegation yesterday.
He said the visit also included discussions on the current progress of AirTrunk’s data centre development in Johor and a localisation framework to raise local companies’ participation in the data centre value chain.
“This investment commitment is highly welcomed and is expected to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a competitive, progressive, and highly capable regional digital hub.
“This decision reflects the confidence of investors, especially global technology companies, in the advantages offered by Malaysia as a strategic partner as the government refines policies and enhances the efficiency of data centre development and operations,” he said in a post on X today.
