TH To Provide Free Shuttle Bus Service For Pilgrims Heading To Masjidil Haram

MAKKAH, April 30 (Bernama) -- The Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) is for the first time providing a 24-hour free shuttle bus service from accommodation hotels to the Masjidil Haram, effective today.

Malaysian Head of Haj Delegation Mohd Hisham Harun said that eight buses have been specifically allocated for Malaysian pilgrims as a value-added enhancement to the agency’s comprehensive services.

He noted that the service covers the route from the Abraj Al Tayseer Hotel to the Jarwal Bus Station, which is located near the Masjidil Haram.

“Using these buses can shorten travel time from approximately a 30-minute walk to just around five to 15 minutes,” he told reporters after launching the shuttle service here on Thursday.

Mohd Hisham said this facility provides a better alternative for pilgrims to reach the mosque easily at any time, thereby allowing them to focus entirely on their worship.

According to Mohd Hisham, the bus service will operate until 2 Zulhijjah (May 19) before main roads are closed in preparation for the Masyair operations.

“This initiative is also expected to help preserve the health of the pilgrims, especially ahead of the peak of the Haj season - the Day of Arafah (Wukuf) - as the weather continues to get hotter,” he said.

For the 1447H/2026M Haj season, TH has prepared five accommodation buildings in Makkah to house 31,600 pilgrims, namely at Abraj Al Tayseer, Rehab Al Janadriyah, Al Kiswah Tower Hotel, Abraj Al Janadriyah, and Qasr Al Janadriyah.
