FAMA Bags Bronze At National IP Awards For Malaysia's Best Brand

KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 (Bernama) -- The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) has strengthened its role as the nation's leading agribusiness brand by winning bronze in the Trade Mark category at the 2026 National Intellectual Property Awards.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali handed the award to FAMA director-general Abdul Rashid Bahri at yesterday's ceremony.

The achievement comes from FAMA's efforts to build and promote the Malaysia's Best brand, a national stamp for local farm goods that meet quality and safety standards both locally and globally.

Abdul Rashid said the award shows FAMA's push to boost local food branding is heading in the right direction.

"This award goes beyond FAMA, honouring the whole national agribusiness chain, including farmers, producers and entrepreneurs dedicated to top-quality Malaysian products," he said.

He said it underscores FAMA's steady push to fortify the agribusiness value chain with high-impact branding, ultimately raising incomes for local farmers, producers and entrepreneurs.

Abdul Rashid said Malaysia's Best branding will grow as a hallmark of trust and global appeal, unlocking export opportunities and sharpening local products' edge overseas.

Launched under the Agriculture and Food Security Ministry, the Malaysia's Best brand serves as a consumer trust symbol for national agribusiness products, covering end-to-end quality controls from farm-level certifications like myGAP to grading, packaging and labelling (GPL) under FAMA's GPL regulations.

As well as sharpening local products' edge, the branding has opened doors for high-value exports like Musang King durians, pineapples, jackfruit and fresh produce to markets in China, Europe and the Middle East.
